our client is a well known uk based importer who successfully delivers fashionable, design driven ladieswear apparel covering knitwear, jerseywear a n d outerwear to the uk high street retailers. with established offices in in london, hong kong, cambodia a n d bangladesh, they now are looking for a high caliber regional manager to join their new hangzhou office opening shortly.
key responsibilities:
-lead the hangzhou office team a n d act as china representative
-ensure daily management of hangzhou team a n d operations are achieved
-provide leadership a n d be the point of contact in the hangzhou office (5-7 ppl)
-provide regular communications with uk a n d hk offices
-provide localized vendor a n d mill management, sourcing , production a n d quality management
-deliver the sourcing strategy for the company as required by the head office
-ensure adherence to purchase policy a n d processes a n d the delivery of the best product at the right price on time
-act as commercial problem solver for the business
-responsible for new supplier sourcing
-manage supplier performance to ensure that the company receives consistently high levels of service
-manage urgent matters such as supplier issue, production delay
-recruit, develop a n d coach team members to become a high performing team
-as the most senior role in hangzhou act as the company representative for the china vendor base
-own the key supplier relationships for their area of responsibility building trust a n d mutually beneficial commercial arrangements.
role requirements:
-min 7 years experience in production management, sourcing a n d technical
-min 5 years experience in ladies outerwear is essential
-excellent fabric a n d technical knowledge preferred
-excellent negotiation a n d reporting skills are required
-willing to travel frequently through out china
-previous experience working with uk market preferred
-china sourcing a n d vendor management experience essential
-ability to provide strong leadership to production, quality a n d fabric teams
-excellent communication skills in both written a n d spoken english a n d ma n darin are essential
